Preliminary results of the Global Food Safety Initiative audit announced.

(January 6, 2012, Louisville, KY) Whole Alternatives, LLC, a leading Private Label Organic and Natural Food co-packer, has announced the preliminary results of its annual Global Food Safety Initiative audit by BRC (British Retail Consortium).

“We achieved an A rating, which is much improved from our previous score,” according to Fred Kapp, Whole Alternatives’ Director of Quality. “I should point out that the results are provisional and that we should receive our actual BRC certificate within 45 days,” Kapp said.

BRC is recognized throughout the food industry as one of the world’s leading third party food safety auditors and its certification is required by leading grocery retailers, wholesalers and distributors in order to become a supplier of those company’s Private Brands.

BRC’s Global Standards for Food Safety, have become the food industry benchmark for quality and “that’s what makes this rating so special to us and will be of equal importance to our customers as we move forward with line extensions and new product introductions,” Kapp said.

Whole Alternatives, was founded in 1947, was an original Organic Trade Association member and continues to be family owned and operated. The company is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky.
